Guyver: Dark Hero

(Steve Wang, US, 1994)

Terrible, laughable, live action US production of mind-numbing Japanese anime. Steve Wang's second live action Guyver outing contains suitably fluid, Hong Kong-style, high wire action as the mutating superhuman kicks rubber alien Zoanoid ass. It works in the same way bad 50s science fiction support features work - it's a B-movie of the 90s - a wacky, Hong Kong-inspired, choppy socky actioner. Considering the cheesiness its anime source, a more accomplished adaptation would be hard to achieve. I loved it!
