"Imaginary
Monsters" (EP, 2011)
It's easy to understand why Canadian outfit The Birthday Massacre are one of the most successful alternative scene acts - because they appear to spend a lot of time on their (very black and purple) image and sound so incredibly mainstream. I've no desire to give either the band or their labels a tough time - everyone has to try and make a living. But to these ears, and for this website, this is just too damn dull. Don't expect to see further reviews here any time soon! 5/10
