"Dead
Angels & Forgotten Ghosts"
(Album,
2013)
Take
the experimental metal of Concrete
Lung, the kicking-against-the-shit-of-the-world attitude of Velvet Acid Christ and splice with Snog's
biting cynicism, and you'll be getting closer to having some kind of
impression of the soundscapes that American citizen Jeremiah
Saint, aka DECAYEDen,
conjures up out of his dark alchemy on this, his debut album. There are
two versions available - a fifteen track CD or a twenty track digital
download. The
resolutely Stygian gloom that's created is embracing and enveloping
rather than depressing or alienating. It firmly occupies the
mid-tempo territory, so particularly appeals to me. Dense and multi-layered as if every track already
sounds
like a remix, DECAYEDen is Saint's vehicle for his dark
side - his 'discotheque of discontent'. 7/10
