Fortune & Glory

(Story and art by Brian Michael Bendis, Published by Oni Press)

Based on Bendis' real-life experiences in Hollywood, Fortune & Glory is a laugh from start to finish. Even if you've never read a comic in your life, chances are, if you're a big fan of movies, you'll love this. The artwork is simple and cartoony, which means that you don't have to spend hours looking at it just to understand what's going on, and the lettering cleverly arches across the page, following the narrative of the images, but always coming back to the person speaking (usually Brian himself). There are some amusing cameos, and some fascinating insights into the heart of the Hollywood machine and, like I said at the start of this review, Bendis will have you laughing from start to finish.
